Many critically ill patients need tracheal intubation, establish an artificial airway, and receive mechanical ventilation treatment. Sputum suction is the most frequent operation for patients with mechanical ventilation to maintain the artificial airway patency and ensure adequate ventilation and adequate gas exchange.
